Mayor Rocky Anderson

From the Tribune:

Mayor Anderson talks about America in terms of Nazi Germany, then says he's not talking about the Bush administration.

Reminds me of

Mayor Anderson talking about Utah in terms of the Taliban, then saying he's not talking about the Mormons.

I also saw Orrin at the airport. It was a brush with fame two-fer week.

I was yelled at by Orrin Hatch at Fashion Place mall once when I was 15. My buddies and I were apparently making too much noise while he was sitting there in the old Walden Book Store (pretty much all alone) signing a book he had written at the time (at least I think that is what he was doing). He strode over to us and told us to be quiet and mind our manners in a very loud & shrill tone.

"exactly who is he talking about???"

All of us apparently. He says we have a "culture of obedience" that is comparable to Nazi Germany's in the 1930s. He lacks perspective.

Charley, you made that same observation during the "Taliban" thing.

You said he had no perspective. You're still right.

It's like when the John Birch Society used to label anyone to the left of Richard Nixon a "communist." They had no perspective.
